When The Frozen Spoon entered a new chapter of ownership, the goal wasn't to reinvent a beloved Canton tradition—it was to thoughtfully reimagine it. Together, we collaborated closely with the new owners to honor the nostalgia generations of North Country families have grown up with while introducing a fresh, elevated experience designed to carry the landmark into its next era.
Our partnership began by redefining how the space would function from the inside out. Through intentional space planning and interior design, we transformed the customer experience to feel brighter, more welcoming, and effortlessly navigable while preserving the charm that makes The Frozen Spoon feel uniquely Canton.
One of the most recognizable additions became the now-iconic blue roof, establishing an instantly identifiable visual cue that has quickly become synonymous with the brand's new chapter. From there, we developed a comprehensive brand strategy and visual identity system that balanced playful energy with timeless simplicity.
Every touchpoint was intentionally designed, including a fully custom menu system that prioritizes clarity without sacrificing personality. Throughout the interior, we curated and framed vintage pieces that originally hung throughout the space, allowing the shop's history to remain an active part of the experience rather than a forgotten memory.
Perhaps the most meaningful element was the custom gallery wall—a visual love letter to the community itself. Built around themes of friends, family, small-town life, and a shared obsession with ice cream, the installation celebrates the people and memories that have made The Frozen Spoon a gathering place for decades.
The result is more than an ice cream shop. It's a refreshed landmark that honors its past, celebrates its present, and creates space for countless future memories to be made.
